HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Factor took the lead at the start and poured on the speed in the stretch to easily win the $300,000 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

The 3-year-old colt's third straight wire-to-wire victory gives trainer Bob Baffert a top contender for the Kentucky Derby on May 7. Baffert has won the Derby three times.

The Factor, ridden by Martin Garcia, got off to his usual fast start and was never seriously challenged in the 1 1-16th-mile race.

Caleb's Posse was second, with Archarcharch third.

Owned by Fog City Stable and George Bolton, The Factor returned $4.80, $4 and $3.20. Caleb's Posse paid $14.20 and $6.80, and Southwest Stakes winner Archarcharch paid $4.20 to show.
