Pletcher defends training of Life At Ten
March 10, 2011Trainer Todd Pletcher insists he did nothing wrong when he allowed filly Life At Ten to run in last fall's Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has spent four months investigating why Life At Ten was allowed to run in the 1 1/8-mile race at Churchill Downs despite concerns by jockey John Velazquez that she did not warm up properly.
Life At Ten went off as the second choice but jogged well behind the field during the race
Pletcher released a statement Thursday saying while Life At Ten was ``quieter'' than usual in the paddock, there were no red flags that would have prevented her from running.
Kentucky officials are expected to release their findings Thursday afternoon. Pletcher, who says he cooperated fully during the investigation, says his request for a copy of the report was denied.
