Uncle Mo's owner has 1 more for the Derby road
March 7, 2011Owner Mike Repole has two horses on the road to the Kentucky Derby following Stay Thirsty's victory in the Gotham Stakes over the weekend.
Repole's Uncle Mo retained the No. 1 spot in the AP's latest Run to the Roses Top 10 Derby contenders, with Stay Thirsty moving in at No. 6.
Uncle Mo gets a chance to prove he's worthy of the top spot when he makes his 3-year-old debut Saturday in the Timely Writer Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
Dialed In drops out of the Top 10 from No. 5 following his second-place finish to 4-year-old stablemate Equestrio in an allowance race Sunday at Gulfstream Park.
Todd Pletcher trains Uncle Mo and Stay Thirsty, as well as No. 2 Brethren, who is set to run Saturday in the Tampa Bay Derby.
