Marilyn's Guy wins Big A feature
March 2, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Marilyn's Guy romped to a 6-length win over Writingonthewall in the $46,060 allowance feature on Wednesday at Aqueduct.
Eddie Castro rode for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin as the 5-year-old gray gelding won his second straight, improving to 7 for 22. The time was 1:43.15 for the one mile, 70 yards on the fast track. Marilyn's Guy paid $3.40, $2.20 and $2.10 as the 3-5 favorite.
Writingonthewall returned $2.70 and $2.10. Dominant Jeannes paid $2.40 to show.
Honeywantshermoney, third in the ninth race, collapsed just past the finish line from a fatal heart attack. Jockey Eurico Da Silva was taken to a hospital with neck and shoulder pain.
Earlier in the day, the New York Racing Association said Jean-Luc Saymn would miss a month after cutting off two fingers and breaking another in a snow-blower accident. The 54-year-old jockey has won 2,611 races and more than $94 million in purses over his career.
