Quiet Giant and It's Tricky win at Aqueduct
February 20, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Quiet Giant and It's Tricky, both odds-on favorites, extended their winning streaks to three with commanding wins in stakes at Aqueduct on Sunday.
Quiet Giant, the 1-20 choice, beat Mined Over Matter by nine lengths in the $61,750 Rare Treat for fillies and mares. The 4-year-old trained by Todd Pletcher posted a third straight stakes win this winter at Aqueduct. Ramon Dominguez was aboard as she covered the 1 1-8 miles in 1:53.22, paying $2.10 to win.
It's Tricky remained undefeated with her victory in the $63,700 Busher for 3-year-old fillies. She trounced Daring Reality by eight lengths with Eddie Castro riding for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. She paid $2.70 to win as the 1-5 favorite. The time was 1:43.21 for the one mile, 70 yards.
