Icabad Crane wins Big A's G'Day Mate Stakes
February 17, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Icabad Crane, the 3-5 favorite, rallied to beat Manteca by 21/4 lengths Thursday in the $60,000 G'Day Mate Stakes for New York breds at Aqueduct.
Rajiv Maragh was aboard for trainer H. Graham Motion as the 6-year-old gelding captured a second straight stakes at Aqueduct, improving to 6 for 23. The time was 1:41.63 for one mile, 70 yards on a fast track.
Icabad Crane paid $3.50, $2.20 and $2.10. Manteca, ridden by David Cohen, returned $3.60 and $2.70. Spa City Fever paid $3.10 to show.
Cohen had four wins on the card.
