Cuvee Uncorked brings top price at Keeneland
January 12, 2011LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Stakes winner Cuvee Uncorked brought the day's top price of $135,000 Wednesday in Keeneland's January Horses of All Ages Sale.
The 5-year-old daughter of Cuvee out of With Approval mare Sealedwithapproval was purchased by Glencrest Farm. She was offered as a broodmare prospect by Three Chimneys Sales, as agent.
Keeneland sold 227 horses Wednesday for $2,878,150, an average of $12,679, up from 211 horses sold during the same session last year for $2,560,100, an average of $12,133.
After three days, 619 horses have sold for $22,478,350, an average of $36,314, up from 617 horses sold during the same period in 2010 for $20,553,900, an average of $33,313.
The sale continues through Friday.
