Sisters finish 1-2-3-4 at Santa Anita
January 6, 2011ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Four sisters - all daughters of California sire Unusual Heat - grabbed the top four spots in the fifth race at Santa Anita on Thursday.
The winner was the longest shot of the four by far - 20-1 Phi Beta Heat - followed by heavy favorite Bitt a Heat in second, Unknown Heat in third and Favoloso in fourth.
A $1 superfecta bet on the four sisters, which requires picking a race's first four finishers, paid $614.90.
In Thursday's feature race, Sporting Art and jockey Joe Talamo beat Tiz Argent by a half-length to win a $61,568 optional claiming allowance for older horses.
Sporting Art, a 6-year-old gelding trained by Mike Mitchell, covered 1 1-8 miles on turf in 1:47.53 and paid $11.80, $6.40 and $4.40. Tiz Argent returned $7.20 and $4.20. Imponente Purse paid $3 to show.
