Grant Jack, hot jockey Berry win Springboard Mile
December 12, 2010OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Jockey Cliff Berry continued his strong streak on Saturday night, guiding Grant Jack to the win in the $250,000 Springboard Mile at Remington Park.
Grant Jack started at 14-1 odds and won the track's top race for 2-year-olds by one length over Brickyard Fast, with Aces N Kings third. Grant Jack, the Kentucky-bred son of Harlan's Holiday, covered the mile in 1:37.98 on a fast track.
Berry followed a five-win outing on Thursday by going 7 for 7 on Friday night at Remington Park, breaking the track record. He easily captured the track's riding title for the meet that ended Saturday.
Grant Jack paid $30.80, $17.40 and $10.40. Brickyard Fast paid $62.40 and $29.60 while Aces N Kings paid $6.80
