Slammy Boy wins Churchill feature
November 19, 2010LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Slammy Boy took the lead at the top of the stretch to win a $52,300 allowance feature by five lengths at Churchill Downs.
The 3-year-old son of Grand Slam, ridden by Corey Lanerie, covered the 1 1/2 miles on the dirt in 2:34.09 after the race was moved from the turf because of rain earlier Thursday.
Slammy Boy paid $12, $4 and $3.40, while odds-on favorite Harrods Creek returned $2.60 and $2.20. Kabob was 12 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.40.
The winner, owned by Lucky Seven Stable, earned $31,380 to increase his career total to $55,848 for his 10th win.
