5-year-old brings top price at Keeneland session
November 18, 2010LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -Nownownow, winner of the Grade II San Fernando Stakes, brought $130,000 to lead prices Wednesday at Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale.
Richard Giacopelli purchased the 5-year-old, who was consigned as a racing or stallion prospect by Highclere Sales as agent.
Keeneland sold 251 horses Wednesday for $2,487,200, an average of $9,909, compared with last year's comparable session when 239 horses sold for $2,253,900, an average of $9,431.
After 10 days, 2,425 horses have brought $144,303,000, an average of $59,506. At the same point in 2009, 2,261 horses had been sold for $155,950,000, an average of $68,974.
The sale continues through Saturday.
