Sister Dawn takes at Hollywood's Park
November 15, 2010INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -Sister Dawn raced to her third victory in her last four starts, holding off heavy favorite Mother Ruth by a neck Sunday in the $62,000 Playa del Rey Stakes at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Joel Rosario, Sister Dawn ran 6 furlongs in 1:09.94 and paid $16.40, $5.60 and $3.40. Mother Ruth returned $3 and $2.40, and Silver Swallow paid $2.60 to show.
Sister Dawn, trained by John Sadler for owners Ike and Dawn Thrash, has four victories in nine lifetime starts. The filly earned $39,200, pushing her career bankroll to $153,707.
