To Honor and Serve wins Big A's Nashua
November 7, 2010NEW YORK (AP) -To Honor and Serve romped to a four-length win Saturday in the $150,000 Nashua Stakes for 2-year-olds at Aqueduct.
It was the second straight dominant victory for the colt trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott. Jose Lezcano replaced John Velazquez, who rode Uncle Mo to victory that afternoon in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs.
The time was 1:35.86 for the mile
The 1-5 favorite, To Honor and Serve paid $2.70, $2.20 and $2.10. Mucho Macho Man was second, returning $3.60 and $2.40. Quality Council paid $3.60 to show.
In the co-feature, Grassy beat Rescue Squad by one length in the $150,000 Red Smith Handicap on the soft turf. He paid $4.70 to win with Joe Bravo aboard for trainer Christophe Clement.
