Unrivaled Belle wins BC Ladies' Classic
November 6, 2010LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Unrivaled Belle held off favored Blind Luck to win the $2 million Ladies' Classic in the opening day finale of the Breeders' Cup.
Ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Unrivaled Belle ran 1 1-8 miles in 1:50.04 under the lights Friday night at Churchill Downs.
Blind Luck finished second as the 3-2 favorite after rallying late. Havre De Grace was third and It's Tea Time was fourth in the 11-horse field.
Life At Ten ran last after apparently not warming up well before the race. Trainer Todd Pletcher said afterward the 5-year-old mare should probably not have run.
