Belle of the Hall wins Belmont's Catinca Stakes
October 28, 2010NEW YORK (AP) - Belle of the Hall beat Catch a Thief by a half length Wednesday in the $70,000 Catinca Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Belmont Park.
Rebounding from a last-place finish in the Charles Town Oaks at even money, Belle of the Hall took the lead in the stretch for her fourth win in six starts.
Ramon Dominguez was aboard for trainer Tom Albertrani as Belle of the Hall ran the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.95 over the track labeled good on a rainy afternoon.
The 8-5 favorite, Belle of the Hall paid $5.50, $3.20 and $2.40. Catch a Thief returned $3.40 and $2.40. Kid Kate paid $2.20 to show.
