Exclusive Scheme wins Belmont's Hettinger
September 27, 2010NEW YORK (AP) - Exclusive Scheme beat Frivolous Buck by a length Sunday in the $100,000 John Hettinger Stakes for New York bred fillies and mares at Belmont Park.
Now 8 for 25, Exclusive Scheme ran the 1 1-8 miles on the firm turf course in 1:49.14. Ramon Dominguez was aboard for trainer Billy Badgett as the 4-year-old won her second New York-bred stakes this year. She also captured the William B. Fasig at Saratoga in July.
Exclusive Scheme paid $14.60, $11 and $6.90. Frivolous Buck returned $13.60 and $7.20 Akilina paid $5.20 to show.
