Starship Angel wins Monmouth Park feature
September 20, 2010OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) - Starship Angel overtook Debonair Darling in the closing strides to win the $75,000 Politely Stakes by a neck Sunday at Monmouth Park.
Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin and ridden by Eddie Castro, the 4-year-old filly ran 1 1-16 miles on the fast track in 1:44 3-5 and paid $7.80, $4 and $2.80 for her sixth win in 17 career starts.
Debonair Darling returned $4 and $3.20, and Ask the Moon paid $5 to show.
