Stormy's Majesty wins Albany Stakes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Stormy's Majesty held off a determined late bid from heavily favored Ibboyee to win the $100,000 Albany Stakes for 3-year-olds bred in New York by a neck on Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course.

The Albany is the third leg of the Big Apple Triple series. Friend or Foe, a starter in Saturday's Travers Stakes, took the first leg, the Mike Lee Stakes, run in early June at Belmont Park. Ibboyee won the New York Derby in July at Finger Lakes Racetrack.

The Albany was the third win in four career starts for the Dominick Galluscio-trained Stormy's Majesty, who ran 1 1-8 miles over a fast track in 1:50.55. Ridden by Edgar Prado, he paid $5.50, $2.90 and $2.50. Ibboyee returned $2.20 and $2.10 and Johannesburg Smile, third of six, paid $2.50 to show. Stormy's Majesty earned $60,000 for Majesty Stud, his owner.
