Bonifacio wins stakes at Del Mar
August 14, 2010DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Bonifacio defeated Pasar Silbano by a nose to win Friday's $83,025 Daisycutter Handicap at Del Mar.
Ridden by Alonso Quinonez, Bonifacio was last at the top of the stretch before rallying to cover five furlongs on the turf in 56.03 seconds and pay $42, $13.40 and $5.60 at 20-1 odds.
Pasar Silbano returned $4.40 and $3.20, while Dotsy Jean was another neck back in third and paid $3 to show as part of a three-way photo finish.
The victory was worth $47,925, giving Bonifacio four wins in seven career starts.
