Dawnie Macho wins Landaluce at Hollywood Park
July 12, 2010INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -Dawnie Macho led all the way in winning Sunday's $100,000 Landaluce Stakes by three-quarters of a length at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Joe Talamo, Dawnie Macho ran six furlongs on the synthetic surface in 1:10.75 and paid $7, $4.60 and $3.60.
Izshelegal, who was next to last after a half-mile, rallied to finish second and paid $13.40 and $6.40. Belleofthebridle was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show as the 2-1 favorite.
Dawnie Macho had broken the track record for 4 1/2 furlongs at Arlington Park outside Chicago to win her debut by five lengths in 51.16 seconds on June 12. She was privately purchased by Gary and Cecil Barber and moved to the Southern California barn of trainer John Sadler.
