Al Khali wins Belmont feature
July 9, 2010NEW YORK (AP) -Al Khali led all the way Thursday, beating Rogue Victory by 2 3/4 lengths in the $57,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.
A 4-year-old trained by Bill Mott, Al Khali improved to 5 for 15 with his first win in five races dating back to the Saranac Stakes at Saratoga last September. Kent Desormeaux was aboard as Al Khali ran the 1 1-16 miles in 1:40.62 on the firm course.
Al Khali paid $3.60, $3 and $2.10. Rogue Victory returned $10.60 and $4.10 as the longest price in the race at 13-1. Lime Rickey paid $3 to show.
