July 1, 2010SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) -Rachel Alexandra has arrived at Saratoga Race Course where she is likely to make her next start.
The 2009 Horse of the Year spent the spring at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., where the 4-year-old filly ended a two-race losing streak with a 10 1/2-length win in the Fleur de Lis on June 12.
Co-owner Jess Jackson has yet to announce her next start. Among the possibilities are the Ruffian Handicap on Aug. 1 and the Personal Ensign on Aug. 29. Both races are for fillies and mares.
Rachel Alexandra defeated older males in the Woodward Stakes at the Spa last year in the final race of her 8-0 championship season.
The filly arrived Wednesday, and is expected to have a workout Monday morning.
