C C's Pal wins $82,000 Monmouth Park feature
June 19, 2010OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) -C C's Pal dropped into the allowance ranks for the first time since January and posted a 1 1/2-length victory over Debonair Darling in the featured $82,000 race at Monmouth Park on Friday.
Ridden by Eibar Coa, C C's Pal covered the mile and a sixteenth on the main track in 1:46.4 in winning for the first time in six starts this year. The Derek Ryan-trained filly returned $8.20, $4.60 and $3.80.
Debonair Darling paid $6.20 and $5., while pacesetter East to Eden faded to third in the field of seven fillies and mares and earned $6.40 to show. Tizahit, the 6-5 favorite, finished fifth.
East to Eden took command out of the gate. C C's Pal moved into second on the turn, overtook East to Eden in the stretch and maintained a comfortable margin to the wire.
