Willy Beamin wins Albany Stakes at Saratoga
August 22, 2012SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Favored Willy Beamin beat Zivo by 6 1/4 lengths Wednesday in the $150,000 Albany Stakes for 3-year-olds bred in New York Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course.
Alan Garcia rode Willy Beamin, the Rick Dutrow-trained colt also entered Saturday in the $500,000 King's Bishop.
Willy Beamin ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:50.34 and earned $90,000 for owner James Riccio. He paid $4.30, $2.80 and $2.20.
Zivo returned $3.50 and $2.70, and Fox Rules paid $3.80 to show.
