Sarah Lynx wins Pattison Canadian International
October 16, 2011TORONTO (AP) - Long-shot filly Sarah Lynx won the $1.5 million Pattison Canadian International, beating defending champion Joshua Tree by four lengths at Woodbine.
Sarah Lynx, the Irish-bred 4-year-old ridden by Christophe Soumillon and trained by John Hammond, ran 1 1/2 miles on the turf course in 2:34.90 to become the first filly to win the race since Infamy in 1988.
Sarah Lynx paid $46.90, $21.40 and $13.80 and earned $900,000.
In other turf races, Miss Keller held off Dream Peace in the $1 million E.P Taylor Stakes for fillies and mares, and Regally Ready won the $500,000 Nearctic Stakes.
The three winners earned spots in the Breeders' Cup next month at Churchill Downs.
