Beau Choix wins Belmont's Rob N Gin Stakes
July 7, 2011NEW YORK (AP) - Beau Choix rallied along the rail in the stretch under Ramon Dominguez and outfinished Pocket Cowboys to win the $60,000 Rob N Gin Stakes by a nose at Belmont Park.
Trained by Barclay Tagg, Beau Choix covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:39.58 over a firm turf course. The 4-year-old improved to 5 for 14, paying $8.80, $4.80 and $3.20. Pocket Cowboys returned $6.20 and $4.40 while Boots Ahead, $5.20, got third as the longest price in the race at 19-1.
