Favorite Broken Dreams wins Hollywood Park feature
December 2, 2010INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -Heavy favorite Broken Dreams romped over a small field to win Wednesday's $44,000 feature at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Garrett Gomez for trainer Thomas Proctor, Broken Dreams sat second in the field of five fillies and mares for most of the race, then pulled away easily in the final yards to win by 2 1/2 lengths, covering six furlongs on turf in 1:08.57.
Broken Dreams paid $2.80, $2.20 and $2.10. Softly Singing was second and returned $3.60 and $2.60. Oui Say Oui was a half-length back in third and paid $2.80.
It was the third career victory for the 4-year-old filly, with all three coming in different states. The others were in Florida and New York. She has earned $101,120 in her seven career starts.
