Notes:
Eddie Castro is a popular thoroughbred American horse racing jockey, whose native country is Panama. His childhood days were spent on a production farm in Panama; this is the place where he learned the art of horse riding. At his teens, he was admitted to a local jockey school and started participating in races from December 2002. Within three months of the start of his career, he gathered thirty-six winning titles in his own country and prepared coming to the United States and debuted on April 16, 2003 at Gulfstream Park in Florida. Though he started three months late in that session, Castro wrapped up the year as the winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey. Castro set a record with nine wins on a single race card at the Calder Race Course on June 4, 2005. This marvelous racing session was immediately followed by his completion of 1000th racing wins at the Churchill Downs Racetracks on November 15, 2006. In 2005, he rode Miesque̢۪s Approval to victory in the Sunshine Millions Turf and took part in the Breeders̢۪ Cup Mile.
