Notes:
Tagg got involved with racehorses in 1963 when he was managing a farm in Pennsylvan ia. He started riding in 1966, and concentrat ed solely in training horses near the end of 1971. Tagg plied his trade in the Mid-Atlant ic for more than two decades before moving his operation to the New York/Flori da circuit . At home in Maryland, Tagg’s Crab Grass won the overall Mid-Atlant ic Thoroughbr ed Championsh ip Series in 1999. Tagg has had three Breedersâ €™ Cup startersâ €”Highland Springs, (ran seventh in the 1989 Mile), and Funny Cide (finished ninth in the 2003 Classic) and 10th in the 2004 renewal.
